I like the fact that everything fits into a form fitted pouch about the size of a CD holder. At some point I'll probably use everthing in the package -- except maybe the phone cord.
The included products are high quality and I really like the USB port replicator because it's very compact. The pen with the laser pointer is useful and the USB light is too. The mouse is tiny but I prefer ANY mouse over the trackpoint or touch pads on most laptops.

...and all of the components work the way they're supposed to. The retractable cords are great, and work every time. Everything fits well into the carrying case, which stays in my laptop bag. This means I don't have to dig around through a mass of tangled cords in the bottom of the bag to find the piece I need. A special note about the mouse: this cute little guy is almost worth the price of the whole kit. Although tiny compared to a standard mouse, it's very easy to use and takes up no more real estate than the width of my hand. This is especially nice in coffee houses, with their postage stamp sized tables. It was immediately recognised by the "Windows 7 Release Candidate" I'm running on the laptop. This isn't just another assemblage of cute little doo-dads that will end up collecting dust somewhere. A smart laptop seller would do well to include it with the computers they sell. Highly recommended!!

I travel a lot for a youth organization, teaching at seminars. I bring a laptop with me. This case full of laptop essentials comes in super handy. Quality made, small enough to toss in a back pack or even a large pocket, and full of everything you might need for your computing needs while traveling. Two thumbs up.

The 'alternative' is no kit at all. This one contains all the essentials.
As far as personal computing devices are concerned, it doesn't much matter how, or where, they position that 'finger pad thing'. It can try your patience.
The mouse works well and so do the other connections. The light is especially handy.
Only drawback is... it is next to impossible to place the items back where they belong inside the foam lining that is part of the kit. That might be considered by some to be splitting hairs but it is annoying.

I read (in another review) that the casing was snug for most of the items, but I figured that this was not a big deal, for I'd rather have the items fit into the casing securely than have them constantly falling out.
The problem is that the case itself is extremely cheap, and the padding which is designed to hold the item in place was disconnected on the left side when I opened the case, before I even touched anything inside. Furthermore, the items were so tightly packed that it was rather difficult removing the items to test/use them without ripping the inside casing even more (it's just extremely cheap foam).
While I could have returned the item, I figured it wasn't worth it because even though the case should not have arrived with the inner packing already disconnected, chances are even a replacement wouldn't be much better given the quality of the casing itself.
All of the items within the case work fine, and it is a neat little kit that I would still recommend. I can fit these items in my own case and I simply used a bit of hot glue to secure the padding of the one that came with the device. Overall I would still recommend the product.
